Bio

Ean JacksonThis is me:  Ean Jackson.  I am an entrepreneur.

For the past 20+ years, I have been in management, technical and business development roles in the technology industry and have kept a foot in the door of academia.

I have been employed by multinational corporations including Oracle Corporation, Sprint International and IBM, where I was one of the top sales performers worldwide.

I have started up several businesses and been an advisor to many more.  In my current role as President of Analytics Marketing, I consult with  growing businesses on many issues, but mostly those that relate to finding and keeping new customers.

Coaching and mentoring is a key part of what gets me up in the morning.

I am a member of the business faculties at Simon Fraser University, the University of Phoenix and the University of British Columbia where I teach both undergraduate and MBA classes.

I speak frequently on business and technology issues and have served on the boards of numerous industry and not for profit organizations including the International Internet Marketing Association (IIMA), the BC Internet Association (BCIA), BC Science World, the Leaders of Tomorrow program of the Vancouver Board of Trade and the UBC Executive Mentor Program.

I am an angel investor in early stage technology companies and have a keen interest in leadership and corporate governance. As a volunteer mentor for New Ventures BC, I coach entrepreneurs and startup companies.

I am relatively fluent in four languages (English, French, Spanish and German) and try to practice as often as I can.  I hope this book is so successful that I get to translate it into many languages and travel to meet entrepreneurs around the world.

My educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Arts (University of Western Ontario, 1978), a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering (Southern Methodist University, 1985) and a certificate in Internet Marketing (University of British Columbia, 1998).
